The message reads, in part:
“Throughout the centuries, your native land has played an important role in the fate of the country, in the development of its economy and agriculture and in strengthening statehood. Special, heroic pages of its history are connected with the Great Patriotic War. The defence of Malaya Zemlya, the Red Army's fierce battles for the liberation of Kuban towns and villages, the bravery and courage of those who worked hard for the Victory in factories, plants and hospitals, and supplied the front with clothing and food are forever in the memory of our people. That is why Novorossiysk is rightfully awarded the honourable title of Hero-City, and Anapa and Tuapse – City of Military Glory.
And of course, on this solemn day, the warmest and most sincere words of gratitude go to our veterans who defended the freedom and independence of our Motherland. Today, the heirs of their military and patriotic traditions are just as selflessly defending Russia in the special military operation.”
