The message reads, in part:
“This year, when we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the national sports management system, your forum has brought together the heads of sports federations and concerned regional organisations, the leaders of the sport industry, coaches and mentors in the capital of the Perm Territory. This broad representation is an excellent opportunity to discuss current professional issues, exchange experience and map out future plans at a high expert level.
I would like to point out that promoting the values of popular sports, physical fitness and healthy living is among Russia’s fundamental national priorities. We are building new stadiums, ice arenas and swimming pools, opening modern specialised clubs, re-equipping school gyms and organising outdoor recreation sites near residential buildings. We are paying special attention to the organisation of competitions and tournaments for all age groups but first of all for children and young people. Of course, it is extremely important to use the creative and truly inexhaustive potential of sports for strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and cooperation on the international stage.”
