The message reads, in part:
“Your highly respected forum has always been a major and significant event in the life of our country. Bringing together representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church and other traditional religions of Russia, as well as government officials, scholars, politicians, and cultural figures, it is distinguished by its rich agenda, open and substantive dialogue, an atmosphere of mutual respect, and productive, constructive engagement.
During this year’s readings, you will address a broad range of issues related to strengthening the best traditions of Russian education, fostering the upbringing of the younger generation based on enduring spiritual and moral ideals, and reinforcing the values of patriotism and civic responsibility. Central to the forum’s agenda is the further development of constructive cooperation between the state, the church, and institutions of civil society. I am pleased to note that in recent years, many outstanding and truly unique joint projects and initiatives have been successfully implemented. Among them, the New Chersonese museum and temple complex rightfully holds a special place. It has become a major, internationally recognised centre of education, research, and tourism.
I am confident that the 34th International Educational Christmas Readings will be held at a high creative and organisational level, and that the proposals and initiatives put forward during the forum will be high in demand.”
