The President’s message reads, in part:
“I feel with all my heart what a profound and irreparable loss this is. Sergei Ivanov was a man devoted to Russia, who made an enormous contribution to the development of our country and the strengthening of its sovereignty. His knowledge, experience, and energy were always called upon in the most complex and responsible areas of public service. In every position he held, he proved himself to be an energetic and highly competent leader, as well as an exceptionally reliable and decent person. Sergei Ivanov was respected by his colleagues, comrades, and friends – by everyone who knew him and had the privilege of working alongside him.
This is how he will remain in our memory.”
