The message reads, in part:
“You have come to Moscow from across Russia to discuss a wide range of issues affecting the country’s northern regions. These include improving living standards and quality of life, ensuring environmental protection, and preserving the unique cultures, traditions, and customs of the indigenous peoples of the North.
Women make an invaluable contribution to the development of Russia’s northern territories. We are proud that, in 2025, a Russian woman became the first in the world to captain a nuclear-powered icebreaker. Women work across key sectors of the economy, make important scientific discoveries, achieve success in the arts, devote considerable effort to community and volunteer initiatives, and provide comprehensive support to participants and veterans of the special military operation, as well as their families.
I am confident that your forum will produce meaningful discussions, and that its proposals and recommendations will be considered and put into practice. In this regard, I would also like to recognise the extensive work of the Council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum under the Federation Council, whose initiatives, programmes, and events encourage women to play an active role in the life of our country and society.”
