The President spoke on the telephone with veteran of the Great Patriotic War, participant in the Battles of Stalingrad and Berlin Yevgeny Znamensky, who turned 101 on August 13.
The President cordially congratulated Yevgeny Znamensky on his birthday, offering his best wishes.
Earlier, the President sent a message of congratulations, thanking Yevgeny Znamensky, in particular, for his feats of arms during the war and labour achievements in peaceful time, as well as for his contribution to the patriotic education of the younger generation of Russian citizens.
