Laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier 2013-06-22 12:45:00 Alexander Garden, Moscow On the Day of Memory and Grief, Vladimir Putin laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier by the Kremlin wall. Taking part in the wreath-laying ceremony, dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, heads of other ministries and government agencies, Great Patriotic War veterans, military commanders and members of the public. The ceremony was concluded with a solemn parade by the Moscow garrison troops. The President also laid flowers at the memorials honouring the hero-cities and the cities of military glory.
