President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov 2003-04-17 15:35:46 Novo-Ogaryovo Mr Mironov told Mr Putin about his trip to Central Asia, during which he visited Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. At a meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov, it was agreed that Russia would supply Tajik schools with Russian language textbooks by September 1. Mr Rakhmonov had signed a degree on the mandatory study of Russian in the republic. Mr Mironov also said that he had visited the 201st Russian division and a border post in Tajikistan. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, at a meeting with the Federation Council speaker, gave his vision of a common economic space. During a meeting with his counterparts from the upper houses of the parliaments of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Mr Mironov discussed harmonisation of legislation.
