President Vladimir Putin signed the law ratifying the Russian-Ukrainian agreement on procedures for the return of aircraft and aviation equipment 2007-07-06 17:30:30 The agreement was signed in Kiev in 2003 and sets out procedures for the removal from Ukrainian territory of Russian aircraft and aviation equipment, in particular heavy bombers, currently at Ukraine Defence Ministry repair facilities. The agreement also contains provisions for the dismantlement and return to Russia of engines, equipment and other aircraft components and aviation equipment before the process of actual removal from Ukrainian territory begins. Under the agreement’s terms, Ukrainian engines will be transferred to Ukraine, if necessary, in return for Russian engines.
