The President said, in particular, in his message: “Nikolai Laverov was an outstanding Russian scientist, a recognised leader in the field of geology, and a man of great constructive energy and talent. His scientific developments and pioneering research made a tremendous contribution to studying and developing our country’s mineral resource base and resolving important issues in energy, defence, the environment, and life safety.” Nikolai Laverov died on Sunday, aged 86.
