There is no need to describe our relationship, as it is a truly allied relationship, in the full sense of the word, and a strategic partnership. We have a well-established political dialogue, and we cooperate in the military field, both within the CSTO and on a bilateral basis. Economic ties are also growing between us.
Today we will have an opportunity to discuss these matters in more detail, although we have had a chance to talk and did so for almost an hour before the official meeting; we have already discussed some of the key spheres of our interaction. Now let us talk about each of these fields separately, with our colleagues – in an expanded format following a restricted meeting.
We are delighted to see you. Welcome.
President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon: Mr President,
Thank you for the invitation to come to the Russian Federation on an official visit.
Russia is a key strategic partner and ally of Tajikistan and has a leading place in Tajikistan’s trade and economic relations. Our cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres is on the rise, and security cooperation is being strengthened.
I am confident that today's meetings will give a fresh impetus to further deepening the entire scope of contacts between our countries.
Thank you once again.
