The national award for outstanding achievements in human rights activity was conferred on Chairperson of the Moscow Helsinki Group Lyudmila Alekseyeva.
The national award for outstanding achievements in charity work was conferred on Vladimir Vavilov, chairman of the Anzhela Vavilova Charity Foundation for Children with Leukaemia, Republic of Tatarstan.
National awards for outstanding achievements in human rights and charity work were established by a Presidential Executive Order in 2015. The first recipients were General Director of the Children’s Hospice organisation Alexander Tkachenko and public figure Yelizaveta Glinka.
