The congress involves 698 delegates from all over Russia representing more than 20 million members of trade unions and employers’ associations, leaders of international trade union associations and those of foreign states, as well as representatives of government agencies. There are plans to discuss the socioeconomic situation in the country, to raise the issues of decent wages, the creation of highly productive jobs, efforts to protect workers and the issue of social partnership. The delegates will also sum up the results of their work over the past five years and chart the organisation’s main tasks for the next few years. * * * That same day, the President will chair a regular meeting with Government members. The main issue on the agenda will be social support measures for disabled persons.
