Within the framework of his working trip to St Petersburg, Vladimir Putin held a meeting on implementing the 2011–2020 state arms procurement programme, focusing on development of the technology base for air and space defence, and took part in the plenary session of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
On the forum’s sidelines, Mr Putin had meetings with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Zhang Gaoli, and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel.
The Russian President met with representatives of Business 20, leaders of G20 youth delegations, experts of the Russian Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists and heads of infrastructure funds, as well as energy companies' CEOs.
Also, Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel met with members of Russian and German business communities and visited the Bronze Age: Europe without borders exhibition at the State Hermitage Museum.
