Preparations for the International Humanitarian Cooperation Forum in autumn 2011 were the focus of particular attention.
Meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ramiz Mehdiyev, Sergei Naryshkin noted that, “Azerbaijan offers the most suitable platform for humanitarian cooperation. Our presidents have placed this forum under their patronage”.
Mr Naryshkin and Mr Mehdiyev took part in the opening ceremony of the Russian Information and Cultural Centre in Baku. This big event in Russian-Azerbaijani relations also launches in suitably substantial fashion the year that the Commonwealth of Independent States countries have declared the Year of Historical and Cultural Heritage, Mr Naryshkin said.
Sergei Naryshkin thanked the Azerbaijani authorities for their help in setting up the centre.
