The First Lady heads the Foundation for Social and Cultural Initiatives, which organises the annual Sunny Day festival for children who have recovered from cancer.
The event was held at the Moscow Planetarium. The children visited the Planetarium’s Great Star Hall, where they travelled across the Sky Park, which represents the solar system and the Milky Way, took part in the Cosmic Journey interactive game and watched the film Cosmic Collisions.
“Our festival has been held for several years already. I am confident that you will draw on its remarkably warm and friendly atmosphere to find new strength and the mindset that you need for growth, creativity and talent,” said Svetlana Medvedeva.
Together with representatives of Vnesheconombank, the First Lady presented a cheque for seven million rubles to the Blokhin Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Institute for the purchase of new medical equipment.
