The President said, in particular, in his message:
“Your organisation is actively involved in efforts to revive the spiritual and cultural traditions of our country’s Jewish people and carry out educational and charity programmes of great social importance.
We place great value on the FJCR’s constant efforts to maintain interethnic harmony and promote dialogue with Russia’s other faiths, and we value too the contribution you make to combating xenophobia, anti-Semitism, and religious intolerance. All of this work helps to preserve our country’s cultural diversity, promote an atmosphere of mutual respect, and strengthen our society’s stability.”
The Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia is a national organisation representing Orthodox Judaism. It was registered with the Russian Justice Ministry in 1999.
