The message reads, in part:
“Millions of people in Russia and abroad know you as an outstanding hockey player. In defending the national team’s goal, you added many bright pages to the history of our hockey team’s triumphs. Fans remember you for your reliable, confident game and you were rightly included in the symbolic Centennial All-Star Team by the International Hockey Federation.
Your achievements include not just your many gold medals from prestigious competitions, but also your successful activity as a State Duma deputy. Today, you are devoting a great deal of energy and efforts to developing sports in our country, supporting gifted youth and promoting a healthy way of life.”
By the President’s Executive Order, Vladislav Tretyak was awarded the Order for Services to the Fatherland, III degree.
