The Treaty is aimed at coordinating cooperation among the customs services of the Customs Union’s member states, as well as promoting the Customs Union’s tasks and objectives.
The Treaty provides for the establishment of the Joint Board of Customs by the Customs Union’s member states. The Board’s main tasks are to coordinate the activities of the customs services of the Customs Union’s member states, participate in the formation of a unified legal framework for the Customs Union with regard to customs issues, ensure uniform application of the Customs Union’s customs legislation, and promote the implementation of customs policy across the common customs territory.
