The agenda for the talks includes developing the bilateral political dialogue, increasing trade (bilateral trade came to $3.06 billion in 2011 – a 25.2-percent increase on the 2010 figure), strengthening humanitarian ties, and carrying out big bilateral projects, in particular in areas such as energy, information technology, machine-building, and scientific and technical cooperation.
The two presidents will also exchange views on current international affairs, including preparations for the upcoming APEC Summit in Vladivostok on September 8–9, 2012.
The talks are expected to see the signing of a number of bilateral agreements.
