Mr Novak said that despite abnormal climatic conditions, Russia’s energy system worked reliably last winter and the number of breakdowns dropped by 3.6 percent compared to 2012. A total of 6.5 gigawatts of energy capacity was commissioned over the last year. Investment in the sector came to 865 billion rubles in 2012, up 10 percent on last year’s result.
