In accordance with the Federal Law On the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin selected forty Russian citizens who have distinguished merits for the state and society, and sent these citizens invitations to become members of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Under the law, at least half of these forty citizens invited by the President to join the Civic Chamber must represent professional and creative unions, employers’ associations and professional organisations, as well as other non-profit organisations created to support and protect the interests of professional and social groups.
In accordance with the law on the Civic Chamber, the day these invitations are published is considered the date when the President initiates the procedure for forming the new Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
