The President said, in particular, in his telegram:
“Sled dog races are not just one of the indigenous northern peoples’ unique cultural traditions but are also a dynamic and beautiful sport that is developing confidently today. An ever broader range of people are taking part every year in these competitions, which bring together young competitors from different cities and countries.
I am sure that this latest competition will be of the highest organisational and creative standards and affirm its status as one of the major stages in the World Cup.”
The International Middle-Distance Sled Dog Race On the Land of Sampo will take place in Karelia on January 19–20.
