Vladimir Putin congratulated Yelena Donskaya, three times world champion in small-bore rifle shooting, seven times European champion, 15 times USSR champion, holder of four world records, army medical officer with the rank of colonel, participant in the defence of Moscow and veteran of the Great Patriotic War, on her 100th birthday.
The President said, in particular, in his message:
“We are genuinely proud of the generation that went through the Great Patriotic War, endured great trials, and achieved great triumphs. You were never afraid of the difficulties, never lost hope, and laboured selflessly to build our country’s strength and prosperity.”
