Dmitry Medvedev had a working meeting with Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov.
The President described the Russian Ministry of Defence's main tasks in 2010 as the preservation of strategic nuclear forces, rearming the military and providing servicemen with housing.
The meeting took place at Vystrel training ground. Before it began the Commander-in-Chief and Defence Minister took a look at the new military vehicles.
Dmitry Medvedev watched a demonstration of new armoured vehicles for transporting troops based on Russian-made KamAZ heavy-duty trucks, and a demonstration of multi-purpose Tigr (Tiger) vehicles, used by the special forces.
The President then toured an exhibition of rare small arms.
