The participants in the meeting discussed organisational matters pertaining to the Parental Platform’s activities. Specifically, it was decided that the Commissioner for Children’s Rights will head the consultative body, identify its strategic goals and objectives, and approve its members. The work will be carried out in different formats with the participation of experts, representatives of relevant agencies, and members of other public bodies under the Commissioner’s auspices. There are plans to hold Platform meetings at least quarterly.
Apart from that, Maria Lvova-Belova focused on the particular need for grant support for public associations. During the meeting, experts from the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives and the Presidential Grants Foundation described the process of project funding by the state, from preparing an application to participate in the selection to conducting bidding procedures themselves.
