The President discussed the social and economic situation in Karachayevo-Circassia with the republic’s president, Boris Ebzeyev, and held a meeting on regional development.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Ebzeyev noted that the republic is having problems selling locally-produced goods and said that military units stationed on the republic’s territory, for example, are supplied with produce from other regions.
Mr Medvedev asked Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin and Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov to investigate this situation.
The situation on the job market was also discussed at the meeting.
