The message reads, in part:
“The fight against oncological diseases is a priority of modern medicine all over the world.
Over the past years, Russia has been implementing an ambitious programme in this essential sphere of healthcare. Leading scientists, practitioners, pharmaceutical manufacturers and experts are involved in solving these important problems. Much attention is paid to training qualified specialists, upgrading and re-equipping cancer centres, and introducing domestic technologies to diagnose and treat cancer. And of course, success in the fight against this dangerous disease is largely facilitated by extensive educational activities and public awareness about the importance of cancer prevention and early detection.
In this regard, I am pleased to note the enormous, truly selfless work carried out by the participants of the Oncopatrol national information and education project: representatives of relevant ministries and departments, medical institutions, public and non-profit associations. I want to sincerely thank the organisers of this important and popular initiative: the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Russian Federation Ministry of Healthcare, the Association of Oncologists of Russia, the Zdravstvuy Russian Association of Oncology Patients, the Ministry of Healthcare and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, for their dedicated service for the benefit of the health of Russians.”
