The message reads, in part:
“You can be rightfully proud of the lush nature of your land and the original historical and spiritual heritage of your ancestors. Here, on the shore of Lake Baikal, representatives of different peoples and cultures have been living in peace and harmony for centuries, nurturing their traditions of friendship and mutual understanding. Their creative work helped develop new territories, build cities and towns, erect transport and social infrastructure facilities.
It is gratifying that today the region is developing and strengthening its economic potential. Large projects are being implemented in the republic in industry and agriculture, healthcare and education; great attention is paid to such unique natural resources as the Baikalsky and Barguzinsky biosphere reserves.
I believe that energy, initiative and sincere love for the Motherland will continue to help you in solving the tasks that are in demand for the benefit of the Republic of Buryatia and all of Russia.”
