The message reads, in part:
“Started in 1958, your legendary competition is celebrating its 65th anniversary in excellent creative shape. As before, it is by right considered one of the biggest and most important events in the world of music. Young performers from our country and other states – pianists and vocalists, violinists and cellists, as well as those in other professions – are looking forward to it and are seriously preparing for it. This is only natural because participation in this competition is a good start for a successful career and for international recognition. And, of course, rising stars have the opportunity to perform at famous venues in Moscow and St Petersburg and to connect with the rich history and unique traditions of Russian culture.
I am convinced that the 17th International Tchaikovsky Competition will take place on a high note, open up a galaxy of new talent and become a real celebration for art lovers and connoisseurs.”
