The message reads, in part:
“Over the past few centuries, the development of the shipbuilding sector has had a major impact on Russia’s development as a maritime power, expanding its economic and industrial potential and enhancing its defence capability.
It is gratifying members of the current generation of shipbuilders deeply respect the traditions of their predecessors, and that they are actively and conscientiously involved in addressing key objectives of our state. Thanks in large part to your competence and responsibility, a wide range of ships are being built in Russia, including nuclear-powered icebreakers, fishing, transport, research and passenger ships. They ensure river and high-seas traffic, including via the Northern Sea Route, and serve as a base for exploring the ocean depths and strengthening Russia’s positions in the Arctic. The United Shipbuilding Corporation plays an important role in developing the national fleet, including the civilian fleet and the Navy. I would like to specially note the significant contribution of shipbuilders to fulfilling the state defence order and creating a naval shield for our Motherland.”
