The Federal Law denounces the Fisheries Agreement between the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, signed in Moscow on May 25, 1956, and ratified by the USSR on August 31, 1956.
The agreement is primarily unilateral and has no similar or comparable benefits for the Russian Federation.
Considering Britain’s decision to deny Russia access to most-favoured-nation treatment in bilateral trade, denunciation of the agreement will not lead to tangible foreign policy or economic consequences for the Russian Federation.
