The message reads, in part:
“The need for direct informal communication between reputable legal scholars and practicing lawyers from the BRICS countries is increasing, particularly considering the recent expansion of the association. The theme of this forum is The Law: Safeguarding a Just World, which fully aligns with the priorities of Russia’s chairmanship of BRICS and, of course, corresponds to the participating countries’ general intention to build a truly democratic multipolar world order based on clear and binding legal norms for all.
The forum’s agenda includes a wide range of issues related to international justice, legal education and research, as well as the legal dimension of trade and investment exchanges, intellectual property, and mechanisms for settling cross-border commercial disputes and protecting the legitimate interests of people in various spheres. I am confident that your discussions will be substantive and constructive, and your proposals and initiatives will serve to further develop mutually beneficial partnerships between the BRICS member countries.”
