The two leaders oversaw the signing of a number of cooperation agreements, including an agreement on air transport links, an intergovernmental agreement on sea transportation, and a cooperation agreement between the two countries’ interior ministries.
The two sides also put their signatures to a memorandum of understanding between the Russia’s Federal Drug Control Service and Turkey’s Interior Ministry on combating trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.
A joint action plan of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism and Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism for 2010–2011 was also approved.
Following the talks, Mr Medvedev and Mr Gul made press statements and answered journalists’ questions.
Before arriving at the presidential palace Mr Medvedev visited the mausoleum to Kemal Ataturk, where he laid a wreath before the tombstone. The President wrote in the memorial complex’s guestbook: “Russia honours the memory of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk – the Turkish Republic’s founder and first leader. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk helped to develop all-round relations with Russia.“
