The festival, held for the first time in Russia, coincides with the World White Stick Day celebrated on October 15. The white stick is a symbol of the blind people, and the purpose of the Festival is to demonstrate the diverse talents of children with visual impairments.
After the concert, Svetlana Medvedeva spoke with a well-known Russian singer Diana Gurtskaya, who initiated the event, and thanked her for a well-organised concert and for her efforts to help children.
On behalf of the Social and Cultural Initiatives Foundation, which Russia’s First Lady heads, Svetlana Medvedeva thanked the singer and expressed appreciation for her support of the Foundation’s initiatives.
The musical forum held at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre featured groups and solo performers from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, and Turkmenistan.
