The Government has been instructed to designate the federal executive body responsible for coordinating the work to ensure stable development of single-industry towns, and to earmark the necessary budget funds for timely support measures in towns where the socioeconomic situation is forecast to worsen.
Together with the regional executive authorities, the Government is to carry out comprehensive monitoring of the socioeconomic situation in these towns and draft a list of investment projects to be carried out there. This includes setting out the financing sources and mechanisms for the projects.
The federal executive body responsible for coordinating the overall work, together with the regional executive authorities, will provide the Government with timely information on the likelihood of a worsening socioeconomic situation in the single-industry towns, so that measures can be taken to address and normalize the situation.
The Economic Development Ministry has been instructed to make provisions for priority targeted assistance to small and medium-sized businesses in single-industry towns.
