The Agreement was signed in Moscow on July 26, 2013.
The purpose of the Agreement is to develop long-term mutually beneficial cooperation in the transportation, distribution and sale of natural gas on the territory of Kyrgyzstan pursuant to the Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation in the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of March 2, 1993.
The Agreement names Gazprom and Kyrgyzgaz as the Parties’ organisations responsible for its implementation.
In addition, in line with the Agreement, Kyrgyzstan is to set up on its territory a 100% affiliate of its authorised organisation and to transfer to it all the assets, rights and interests of Kyrgyzgaz with the subsequent transfer of the company’s ownership to Gazprom.
