The Agreement was signed in Astrakhan on September 29, 2014.
The Agreement envisages the creation of a Commission on the preservation and rational use of marine biological resources and management of their joint reserves and establishes its authority.
It establishes the special conditions for harvesting bioresources in the Caspian Sea, including commercial sturgeon fishing.
The Agreement also envisages other measures to ensure the preservation and rational use of marine bioresources in the Caspian Sea.
The Agreement was signed for an indefinite period with the right for each of the parties to terminate its participation therein by means of written notification to its depositary, which is the Government of the Russian Federation.
