The Treaty was signed in Panama on April 29, 2015.
The Treaty is aimed at strengthening the international legal base for cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Panama in the extradition of individuals who have committed criminal offences.
The Treaty envisages that, pursuant to the provisions of the Treaty, both parties undertake to extradite any individual facing criminal prosecution or enforcement of sentence from the other party for an extraditable offense.
The Treaty stipulates that extraditable offences are wrongdoings punishable by at least one-year term of imprisonment or a harsher punishment, in accordance with both countries’ laws.
