The Federal Law ratifies the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China on Cooperation in Fighting Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism, signed in Beijing on September 27, 2010.
The Agreement’s implementation will facilitate bilateral cooperation in preventing terrorism, separatism and extremism. The Agreement contains provisions on joint measures to identify and effectively suppress action connected to preparation and execution of terrorist attacks.
In particular, the Agreement provides for information exchange within the framework of cooperation on preventing and fighting criminal activity in the areas of terrorism, separatism and extremism, holding regular meetings and consultations for this purpose, and cooperation in this area in the two countries’ border regions.
The Agreement also provides for assistance in investigating criminal cases at either party’s request and strengthens cooperation in the areas of research activity, exchange of equipment, use and upgrade of special equipment, and joint production of special equipment on the basis of separate agreements.
