The Agreement between Russia and Israel on cooperation in the field of social security was signed in Moscow on June 6, 2016.
The Agreement determines the procedures for granting old age, disability and survivor pensions and other benefits to citizens of the Russian Federation and the State of Israel who live on their territory and are covered by their laws.
Thus, the Agreement establishes that pension eligibility and its amount shall be determined in line with legislation of the country in which the right to pension was acquired. If a pensioner so desires, the pension may be transferred to the country, which is party to the Agreement, where he or she lives.
In accordance with the Agreement, when determining pension eligibility under Russian law, account shall be made of a pensioner’s length of time spent on the territory of the Russian Federation and the former Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, excluding the territory of other former Soviet republics and other states.
