The Convention, drafted in accordance to existing contractual practice, Russian laws and relevant international standards, was signed in St Petersburg on May 28, 2015 to develop the international legal framework for bilateral cooperation on extradition issues.
In accordance with the Convention, the parties undertake, on a reciprocal basis and in accordance with the Convention, to extradite at either party’s request individuals on the other party’s territory wanted for criminal prosecution or execution of a sentence in the requesting country.
