Considering the fact that the victory by the Soviet Army in the Battle of Stalingrad made a major contribution to achieving Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, and to mark the 75th anniversary of this historic event on February 2, 2018, the President accepted the proposal by the Government of the Russian Federation to celebrate in 2018 the 75th anniversary of victory by the Soviet Army in the Battle of Stalingrad against Nazi German troops.
The President’s Executive Order also provides for establishing an Organising Committee that will be in charge of preparing and holding celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of victory by the Soviet Army in the Battle of Stalingrad against Nazi German troops, and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin was appointed Chairman of the Organising Committee.
The President instructed the Government to appoint other members of the Organising Committee who will be in charge of preparing and holding celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of victory by the Soviet Army in the Battle of Stalingrad against Nazi German troops, and also to devise, together with Russian Organising Committee Pobeda (Victory), a plan of the key events and initiatives related to preparing and holding celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of victory by the Soviet Army in the Battle of Stalingrad against Nazi German troops.
The Executive Order also features a recommendation for the constituent entities of the Russian Federation to take part in preparing for and holding celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of victory by the Soviet Army in the Battle of Stalingrad against Nazi German troops.
