The provisions of the Federal Law aim at introducing the mechanism of revoking the decision on granting citizenship of the Russian Federation in the event that the decision was made based on knowingly false information submitted by the applicant concerning the obligation to observe the Constitution and the laws of the Russian Federation. A court's verdict that has come into legal force on committing acts of terrorism or extremist crimes shall be treated as the court's establishing a fact of providing knowingly false information.
The Federal Law stipulates that copies of the verdict shall be sent to the competent authorities in charge of issues of Russian Federation citizenship.
