This federal law is designed to enhance criminal liability for deliberately making a false report of a terrorist attack.
Specifically, the law introduces liability for deliberately making a false report of a terrorist attack at social infrastructure facilities and for making reports that result in major damage to these facilities, with the maximum penalty of between three and five years’ imprisonment.
The law also stipulates liability for deliberately making a false report of a terrorist attack to destabilise the operation of the bodies of power, with a penalty of between six and eight years’ imprisonment.
In addition, the law stipulates liability for deliberately making a false report of a terrorist attack that resulted in manslaughter or other grave consequences, with a penalty of up to 10 years’ imprisonment.
