The Federal Law establishes the legal framework for regulating relations in the field of volunteering.
In particular, the law clarifies the concept and objectives of volunteering, determines the legal status of volunteers, stipulates specific powers of state authorities and local government bodies in this area, and specifies the details of attracting volunteers for religious organisations.
To implement the state policy in volunteering, the Federal Law provides for the building and maintenance of a single database containing information on individuals who participate in volunteer work.
