The Federal Law specifies the procedure of choosing imprisonment as a pre-trial restriction in the absence of the accused, subject to the Agreement on interstate detection between CIS member countries dated December 10, 2010. The amendment envisages the option of the abovementioned pre-trial restriction in the absence of the accused, if the accused is placed not only on the international but also on the interstate wanted list.
This amendment will enhance the ability of the pretrial investigative authorities and the court to arrest wanted persons and improve the effectiveness of interstate detection.
