The new Federal Law amends certain provisions of the Federal Law On Gas Exports.
These amendments are intended to grant exclusive rights to export liquefied natural gas to users developing onshore areas wholly or partially located north of 67 degrees north latitude, with regard to LNG produced from natural gas and (or) petroleum (associated) gas extracted from these subsoil areas.
Enactment of the Federal Law will enable the monetisation of significant gas reserves located too far from Gazprom’s Unified Gas Supply System and create better conditions for increasing LNG production and export.
