For mass heroism and courage, fortitude and bravery shown by the air base personnel in combat operations to protect the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts, the President resolved to award the honorary Guards designation to the 999th Air Base, which henceforth shall be referred to as the 999th Guards Air Base.
