The Federal Law was adopted simultaneously with the Federal Law On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation, which expands the list of organisations whose activities may be recognised as undesirable in the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law establishes criminal liability for violating the ban established by the laws of the Russian Federation on the activities of foreign or international non-governmental organisations, as well as organisations affiliated with state bodies of a foreign state as their founders or participants, if a decision has been made in respect of such organisation to recognise its activities as undesirable in the Russian Federation.
